What's Your Color???

Colors have always been linked to emotion. Phrases like green with envy or red hot anger show the close connection that color has in our lives. So what does your favorite color reveal about your personality? Here’s what we found out …

• Red is the color of love, energy, passion, anger, excitement and courage.
• Orange is the color of energy, structure and social awareness.
• Yellow is the color of communication, expression and happiness.
• Green is the color of healing, balance, security and sometimes jealousy.
• Blue is the color of tranquility, harmony and creativity.
• Purple is the color of luxury and sensuality.
• White is the color of purity and cleanliness.
• Black, although void of color, is the color of detail and statistical personalities.

So next time you hear expressions like tickled pink or feeling blue, you’ll have a better idea of how color found its way into it all.

Do you like Camping?

Here we arrived just before 4:00pm Sat. @ Jelly Stone on the Lake, In Miss.
As I stated before we were here for the last few hurricanes that hit just 2 months ago.
& It is so much nicer now-there is 16 cabins & only 4 are being taken by visitors.
there are about 80+ spots for RVs & only 10 maybe are being used. It is really nice-the weather is nice & cool, slight mist at night-& when standing at the top of the ridge looking down into the valley where the RVs can park it looks like a miniature Christmas village!! Very Beautiful !!

We aren't directly on the Lake-we're about 6 yrds away. They have Canadian Geese, Ducks, Poo'Doos (some cajun word for another type of DUCK), & white birds oh well crabs can't think of their names-Not swans, Not Pelicans, well when I think of it I'll come back & let ya know. Also I took some pic today of the Dogs-I'll upload them tomorrow (Monday).

Speaking of Monday It's Grand Mother Dog's Birthday.
She will be 55 so I say....But, actually she will be 56-
I guess I'll do for her like I do for myself-
Get to a certain age & that is it...Not counting any higher!
Just there is the date & now hand over the cake!!
(of cheesy that rhymed)
The dogs & I have a special planned for her & of course I bought her some presents BUT, I'm smart enough NOT to talk about them here just yet-she does read my blah blah blog

We have some friends/family that came up today & will be spending 3 days 2 nights with us.
It's another Grammie & her 2 g'sons. Their ages fall between my dogs So, it works out well for play times. They had a blast today & didn't miss a beat in getting into the spirit of winter camping.

This am my father & big dog built a fire. My Mother & the little dogs went in search for perfect fall foliage for my table in my cabin. Ohh talk about some pretty trees & sticks. (pic to come on that as well). Now my clan is all out by the fire while I'm over here in the laundry room cleaning blankets & 2 days of clothes & Yapping to y'all about it all.

When I get back I'm fixing me a little *night cap* & hitting the fire to enjoy the night.

Have a nice night, stay warm.
See you on Monday with some GREAT!!! Online Deals to start off your Christmas Shopping!!!

XOXO

'Twas The Night Before Ike

'Twas The Night Before Ike

'Twas the night before Ike
When all through the state
Not a gas pump was pumping
Not a store open late

All the plywood was hung
On the windows with care
Knowing that a hurricane
Soon would be there

The children were ready
With flashlights in hand
While bands from the hurricane
Covered over the land

And mamma with her Mag-Lite
And I in my cap
Had just filled the bath tub
For flushing our crap

When out on the lawn
There arose such a clatter
I sprang from the closet
To see what was the matter

The trees on the fence
And the neighbor's roof torn
Gave the fear of us dying
In this terrible storm

With a little wind gust
So lively and quick
I remembered quite clearly
Our walls weren't brick

More rapid than eagles
Her courses they came
And he whistled, and wafted
And surged all the same
Off shingles! Off sidings!
Off rooftops! Off power!
Down trees! Down fences!
Down trailers! Down towers!

In the center of Texas
He continued to maul
Screaming Blow Away!
Blow Away! Blow Away All!

As wind ripped and tossed
The debris through the sky
I peeked out the shutters
At cars floating by

So go to the safe-room
My family did do
With a portable radio
And batteries too

And then, in a twinkling
I heard on the set
The end was not coming
For a few hours yet!

As I calmed down the kids
And was turning around
Through the window it came
With a huge crashing sound

A tree branch it was
All covered in soot
The wind blew it smack-dab
On top of my foot

A bundle of twigs
Now lay in a stack
And my living room looks
Like it was under attack

The wind - how it howled!
The storm - very scary!
Myself and the family
Were all too unwary

The dangers of hurricanes
Are serious, you know
They are taken for granted
As Gustav did show

With the winds dying down
And the danger beneath
I noticed my tool shed
Was missing its sheath

So I grabbed my last tarp
And nailed it on down
Then I got in my car
And I headed to town

The traffic was awful
And stores had no ice
My five gallon cooler
Would have to suffice

Generators were scarce
Not one left in town
There were trees on the roads
And power lines down

FEMA was ready
With people to work
Electrical companies
On their way from New York

And in the midst of
This peculiar routine
Another storm emerged
Named Hurricane Josephine

I sprang to the car
And gave my family a whistle
Then away we all went
Like a Tomahawk missile

You could hear us exclaim
As we drove out of sight
"Fare well to this place,
Vermont seems just right!"

writer unknown:

It was just passing through the internet

It was true & cute there can be no doubt,
but I'll take my chances & stay in the south
sometimes it may blow a little too hard
but you can't match the beauty of my back yard
with dogwoods & azaleas & confederate rose
and a hammock in fall where I sometimes dose
I don't care for snow & its winter hassles
I'd rather stay warm in my tiny southern castle
with all of its faults ,and their widely known,
I love Mississippi,..there's no place like home

strange things...

OK this is my weird brain thought of the day
well as of "Right Now"

as I was re-dressing about to leave the bathroom
i noticed there is a pocket in the crotch of my underwear....

NOW my question is what is that special little pouch for...
It's located directly in the crotch zone...

Is that a special little pouch to hid money in??
Add a extra pad -one on top one on bottom-
You know for those extra heavy days??

is it that maybe in the "Sew" line it was skipped
so, I decided to head to my closet & further inspect ALL my under wears...

Yep every one I have with this company is made the same way
small pouch located directly in the crotch zone!!
if you own wal-mart single purchase undies...
you know the ones with funky designs & odd saying-
check your crotch-it may have this special pouch too!!!

I think I will be emailing the company for further
explanation on this mysterious crotch pouch!!

:side thought note:
beware world of women rushing wal-mart in search of odd
crotch pouch panties!! I think it may be the new "Rave"
lol-ok...doubt it!!

Did You Say SHOES???

They say you can tell
where a woman has been
or where she is going
by the shoes she is wearing...

Now my question is...
If I wear these shoes
what does it say about me??

LOL..It has to say that
I live in the South with the Hurricanes!!!

& just so you know I am buying me a pair
that way if I float butt up with my legs
kicking wildly in the air at least you

will be able to spot me from miles away from
the "Bright Orange" shoes!!!!

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or Louisianian?

this is in no way to promote violence
it is what we call in the real world a JOKE...
Just a little humor to get us though the day!!

Please read on...LMAO!!!

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or Louisianian?

Here is a little test that will help you decide.

The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife
and two small children.
Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife
comes around the corner, locks eyes with you,
screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the
knife, and charges at you.
You are carrying a Colt 1911 cal. 45 ACP, and you are an expert shot.
You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What
do you do?
.............................................................

Democrat's Answer:
Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
Does the man look poor or oppressed?
Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire
him to attack?
Could we run away?
What does my wife think?
What about the kids?
Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock
the knife out of his hand?
What does the law say about this situation?
Does the Colt have appropriate safety built into it?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind
of message does this send to society and to my children?
Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?
Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be
content just to wound me?
If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my
family get away while he was stabbing me?
Should I call 9-1-1?
Why is this street so deserted?
We need to raise taxes, have paint and weed day and
make this happier, healthier street that would
discourage such behavior.
This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with
some friends for few days and try to come to a consensus.
.........................................................................................................

Republican's Answer:
BANG!

..............................................................................................

Louisianian's Answer:
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Click..... (Sounds of reloading)

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Click ..... (Sounds of reloading)

Daughter: 'Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the
Winchester Silver Tips or Hollow Points?'

Son: 'Can I shoot the next one!'

Wife: 'You ain't taking that to the Taxidermist!

HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS FOR LOUISIANA

As Ike approaches, here it the amended Hurricane Preparedness list:

We are again in the hurricane season. You may soon be turning on the TV and seeing a weather person pointing to some radar blob out in the Gulf of Mexico and making two basic meteorological points:
(1) There is no need to panic.

(2) We could all be killed.

Yes, hurricane season is an exciting time to be in Louisiana. If you're new to the area, you're probably wondering what you need to do to prepare for the possibility that we'll get hit by 'the big one.' Based on our experiences, we recommend that you follow this simple three-step hurricane preparedness plan:

STEP 1 - Buy enough food and bottled water to last your family for at least three days.
STEP 2 - Put these supplies into your car.
STEP 3 - Drive to Nebraska and remain there until Halloween.

Unfortunately, statistics show that most people will not follow this sensible plan. Most people will foolishly stay here in Louisiana . We'll start with one of the most important hurricane preparedness items:

HOMEOWNERS' INSURANCE: If you own a home, you must have hurricane insurance. Fortunately, this insurance is cheap and easy to get, as long as your home meets two basic requirements:

(1) It is reasonably well-built, and
(2) It is located in Nebraska.

Unfortunately, if your home is located in South Louisiana, or any other area that might actually be hit by a hurricane, most insurance companies would prefer not to sell you hurricane insurance, because then they might be required to pay YOU money, and that is certainly not why they got into the insurance business in the first place. So you'll have to scrounge around for an insurance company, which will charge you an annual premium roughly equal to the replacement value of your house. At any moment, this company can drop you like used dental floss. Since Hurricane George, I have had an estimated 27 different home-insurance companies. This week, I'm covered by the Bob and Big Stan Insurance Company, under a policy which states that, in addition to my premium, Bob and Big Stan are entitled, on demand, to my kidneys.

SHUTTERS: Your house should have hurricane shutters on all the windows, all the doors, and -- if it's a major hurricane -- all the toilets. There are several types of shutters, with advantages and disadvantages:

Plywood shutters: The advantage is that, because you make them yourself, they're cheap. The disadvantage is that, because you make them yourself, they will fall off.

Sheet-metal shutters: The advantage is that these work well, once you get them all up. The disadvantage is that once you get them all up, your hands will be useless bleeding stumps, and it will be December.

Roll-down shutters: Th e advantages are that they're very easy to use, and will definitely protect your house. The disadvantage is that you will have to sell your house to pay for them.

'Hurricane-proof' windows: These are the newest wrinkle in hurricane protection. They look like ordinary windows, but they can withstand hurricane winds! You can be sure of this, because the salesman says so. He lives in Nebraska .

Hurricane Proofing Your Property: As the hurricane approaches, check your yard for movable objects like barbecue grills, planters, patio furniture, visiting relatives, etc. You should, as a precaution, throw these items into your swimming pool (if you don't have a swimming pool, you should have one built immediately). Otherwise, the hurricane winds will turn these objects into deadly missiles.

EVACUATION ROUTE: If you live in a low-lying area, you should have an evacuation route planned out. (To determine whether you live in a low-lying area, look at your driver's license; if it says ' Louisiana ,' you live in a low-lying area.) The purpose of having an evacuation route is to avoid being trapped in your home when a major storm hits. Instead, you will be trapped in a gigantic traffic jam several miles from your home, along with two hundred thousand other evacuees. So, as a bonus, you will not be lonely.

HURRICANE SUPPLIES: If you don't evacuate, you will need a mess of supplies. Do not buy them now! Louisiana tradition requires that you wait until the last possible minute, then go to the supermarket and get into vicious fights with strangers over who get the last can of SPAM.

In addition to food and water, you will need the following supplies:

23 flashlights

At least $167 worth of batteries that turn out, when the power goes off, to be the wrong size for the flashlights.

Bleach. (No, I don't know what the bleach is for. NOBODY knows what the bleach is for, but it's traditional, so GET some!)

A 55-gallon drum of underarm deodorant.

A large quantity of raw chicken, to placate the alligators. (Ask anybody who went through the last storm; after the hurricane, there WILL be irate alligators.)

$35,000 in cash or diamonds so that, after the hurricane passes, you can buy a generator from a man with no discernible teeth.

Of course these are just basic precautions. As the hurricane draws near, it is vitally important that you keep abreast of the situation by turning on your television and watching TV reporters in rain slickers stand right next to the ocean and tell you over and over how vitally important it is for everybody to stay away from the ocean.

Good luck, and remember -- It's great living in The Sportsman's Paradise!

Blog Templates Anyone???

yes, i am a bit unsatisfied with my blog template.
After looking around the www i have
found a few that are 3-4 columns
as to this one which is only 2 column....

I wish to expand mines & change it out!!!!

for all my blaa blaa blaa bloggin'
& then sites I recommend, my links...etc
everything just ain't fitting the way I expected it would-

It's so over mushed & I find it hard to see
everything with out being over
informed...ya' know what I mean....

then again I'm not sure how to do a replacement template either....

they all do not come with instruction!!

maybe I'll find one that has the tabs on top
for each area instead on mashed on side bar-
& enough room on a side bar for my shopping tags...

I guess you can say I'm a lil' old fashion to that-
I think I should have tags on top to click to where
I want to go next instead of it being laid out on side for all to see...
New lazy bloggers.....LOL...
