baking........finally

Saturday December the 13th,
started out as a early day-7'ish AM
all the dogs were wide awake
We hit the kitchen about noon time after
several trips through the kitchen & out to the shed
finally we had ALL things gathered for our baking.

Rex & Spot had there list in hand.
Circles on recipe cards were for liquids
& Stars were for dry ingredients.
Bowls were set out along with measuring spoons.
& MY FAVE Kitchen Aid Mixer!!!

We started with our Triple Threat Cookies
but, after re-looking at the recipe-the boys & I decided
there wasn't enough chocolate in it...
There Can NEVER be enough chocolate in a cookie...
So thus for-the Suicide Cookie was born!!!
It contains over 7 different chocolates
It's outer side is like a cookie but,
the inside is more like a brownie!!
Sweet Perfection!!!

One lucky winner of our contest will win 4 of these!
Yes they are big enough to share or
eat alone with a BIG glass of milk!!!

Once those were finished being mixed &
scooped in the baking pan-
we moved on to rex's favorite cookies
Rex Cookies...I know how original on the name but,
It is his favorite & yet I don't know anyone else who
makes them like we do...soooo that is it's name!!
& family can identify with it!

Winner of contest will receive 6 Rex Cookies.

Same as before I labeled the ingredients with circles & stars.
The boys had their list in hand & started mixing.
This recipe has 2 layers of almond *special recipe* cookie mix
& 2 of molasses *special recipe* cookie mix
Once the ingredients are mixed as needed I layered them in the pan ready to bake.

We went over to my mother's kitchen to bake everything**
(mind ya' 4 years back I broke my oven-
poor thing didn't stand a chance with me that year)
Of course while I baked the boys played...
But, when it came to testing our cookies they were 1st in line!!

Everything came out amazingly awesome!!
The family gave everything 5*****
After returning home I was exhausted
I went pass out while spot & juicy were sleeping.
Rex stayed spend the night with the g'dogs.
when I woke up I wrapped everything firmly in brown paper for safe storage.
Also I had to hid them in containers. With the way my dogs are-
they will try to smell them out & EAT them ALL...
I can NOT have that...I did place a few on the side for them-

Come Monday we will make our Holly Balls.
These are about 2-3 dozen balls liquor for the adults
& 2-3 doz. balls for the children non-liquor.
of course made with Chocolate, at least 3 different kinds.

The topping change each year for I always manage to
find powders that I find to give a new unique taste to the holly balls...
The winner of our contest will receive 6 of each. Making 1 dozen.

I also have one other item that I
will be shipping out to our Contest Winner.
It is my very own special secret recipe!!
Star's Cajun Bread Pudding.
It will arrive in loaf size.
Enough to share with others!!
OR be greedy...it's ok...Eat it all by yourself!!!
I have been preparing this recipe for what will be 8 years this Christmas day.
so...I guess you can say it's a tradition of mines...& It is to DIE for!!
LOL or I like to say "So good it'll make you wanna slap yo' momma"
(please No physical momma abuse)

That is it...Our Saturday-wasted on baking
Not to bad if I say so myself....

Best of Luck to the Winner of our Contest!!
Stay tuned for the Announcement on Thursday AM
BUT.....Still time to Enter if you haven't so YET!!!
ONE Entry Per Person Please...

Day 5--Hazelnut Tea Cookies

Hazelnut Tea Cookies

Times:
Prep 18 min
Inactive Prep 1 hr 5 min
Cook 25 min
Total: 1 hr 48 min
Yield 45 cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, plus additional for coating
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups hazelnuts, toasted and finely chopped

Directions

Heat oven to 325 degrees F and arrange racks in upper and lower third. Combine flour and salt in a medium bowl and whisk until aerated and evenly combined; set aside.

Place butter in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment and beat on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add sugar and vanilla and continue to mix until whipped and light, about 2 more minutes.

Add half of the nuts and mix until evenly incorporated and nuts are broken up, about 1 minute. Add flour and mix until well combined, about 1 minute. Remove bowl from mixer and stir in remaining nuts.

Shape dough into 1 tablespoon balls and place on baking sheets, spaced at least 1 inch apart. Bake, rotating pans halfway through, until underside of cookies are brown, about 25 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool 5 minutes on baking sheets.

Meanwhile, place some powdered sugar in a medium bowl. Once the cookies have cooled, roll them in the powdered sugar until just coated and tap off excess. Let cool completely and re-coat in powdered sugar, tapping off excess sugar, before serving.

**NOTE**
Add pecan instead of hazelnuts.
This way it's called a Cocoon-
A Special Cajun Cookie
For Christmas every year my mother
& her BF used to prepare these.
It used to take 5 gals in the kitchen
to completely prepare these to be enjoyed!!

Amazingly Delicious!!!
~ Maybe one day when I have a kitchen
with a oven that works

I may try these with my boys....L

Meringue Stars

Meringue Stars

I remember as a small child going to the local bakery with my g'father & looking into the glass case to pick out what special sweet treat I wanted. These were always at the top of my list. I found the same recipe our local bakery uses but with a little twist. Chocolate dipped bottoms. Oh how yummy!! my local bakery uses candy sprinkles just before the meringue stars set to cool.
It's a nice flare for a childhood favorite.

I know if my g'father was alive today he would gladly try a hand full of these.

I think that is where I got my "sweet tooth" from.

on to the recipe-Post back if you don't mind once you try these yourself.

Meringue Stars

yield: Makes about 7 dozen cookies

active time: 35 min

total time: 4-1/2 hr (includes cooling)

Ingredients
  • 3 large egg whites, at room temperature 30 minutes, divided
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 pinches of cream of tartar, divided
  • 3/4 cup superfine granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons instant-espresso powder
  • 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 (3 1/2-ounce) bar 70%-cacao bittersweet chocolate, melted
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Equipment: 3 (12-inch) disposable pastry bags; a 1/2-inch star tip

Preparation

Make vanilla and coffee meringues:
Preheat oven to 200°F with racks in upper, middle, and lower thirds of oven (or use 2 racks and bake in batches). Line 2 or 3 large baking sheets with parchment paper.

Beat 1 egg white with vanilla (for vanilla meringues) and a pinch each of cream of tartar and salt with an electric mixer at medium-high speed until it just holds soft peaks. Add 2 tablespoons superfine sugar, a little at a time, beating, then increase speed to high and beat until meringue holds stiff, glossy peaks. Fold in 2 tablespoons superfine sugar gently but thoroughly.

Transfer meringue to a pastry bag fitted with tip, then dab some meringue under corners of parchment on all baking sheets to secure to sheets. Pipe 1-inch-wide stars (1 inch high) about 1/2 inch apart.

Make coffee meringues using same amounts and procedure as above but using espresso powder (1 1/2 teaspoons) in place of vanilla.

Make chocolate meringues:
Sift cocoa through a fine-mesh sieve and whisk together with 2 tablespoons superfine sugar.

Beat remaining egg white with a pinch each of cream of tartar and salt with mixer at medium-high speed until it just holds soft peaks. Add remaining 2 tablespoons superfine sugar, a little at a time, beating, then increase speed to high and beat until meringue holds stiff, glossy peaks. Fold in cocoa mixture gently but thoroughly.

Transfer meringue to a pastry bag and pipe more stars.

Bake meringues:
Bake, switching position of upper and lower sheets halfway through baking, until dry, crisp, and firm, 1 1/2 to 2 hours. (Meringues are done when they release from parchment.)

Turn off oven and cool meringues in oven with door propped open about 1/2 inch using handle of a wooden spoon 1 hour, then slide parchment with meringues onto racks to cool completely.

Dip meringues in chocolate:
Line a large baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.

Stir together chocolate and vegetable oil until completely smooth. Peel meringues off parchment, then dip bottom of each into chocolate, allowing excess to drip off. Transfer meringues to lined baking sheet, arranging as close together as possible, and when baking sheet is full, freeze meringues just until chocolate is set, about 3 minutes. Remove meringues from freezer.

Cook's notes: · We used a Wilton 2110/1M star tip for our meringues. An Ateco 885 swirl star tip also works well. · To avoid stickiness, try to bake meringues on a dry day. · Dipped meringues keep, layered between sheets of parchment or wax paper, in an airtight container at cool room temperature 1 week or frozen, container tightly wrapped in plastic wrap, 1 month. Thaw frozen meringues, still in wrapped container, until container reaches room temperature, at least 30 minutes. (Do not unwrap and open container until completely thawed.)

Moon Dog Spot Story

True Story By the Mouth Of Moon Dog Spot!!

While heading home yesterday evening we were driving on Hwy 90
There is no stop places Just 4 lane hwy & swamps on both sides.
Spot rode with G'Maw Dog in her truck-
Big Dog, Juicy, & I were following them.
& G'Paw Dog & Rex was about a hour behind us pulling the G'Dogs camper-
We were about 45 mins from home when his mouth opened & this conversation fell out!!
*Mind you-Spots words don't always come out pronounced correctly!!!*

Spot "Maw I have to poos!"
G'Maw "You'll have to wait we almost home."
Spot "Where's Paw, I can use the troilet in the camper?"
G'Maw "Paw is way in back of us & I can't pull over in the woods!"
Spot "Oh NO Maw-only nanimals make poos in the woods!!!"

i'm back......

I'm very sorry gang

Speaking Of.....

Holidays-Are you ready for Christmas???

Do you have any of your shopping done with yet??

Did you make a list & check it twice???

I have a list-used to be longer but, IF you are over 18 in my family,
It's time for you to shop for ME instead of me for YOU--

::My mind rant::
plus the sad thought that it's all about giving
not receiving BUT, If I go out my way to make your
present
special & unique to you-I DO expect the same thing back-

ESPECIALLY after NEARLY 9 somewhat years of me giving
to you
& not receiving something unique to me back...
OFF MY LIST YOU GO!!!!

I have over 90% of my shopping list done with.
But, as I was sitting here just last week "checking it twice"
I couldn't find no wheres on my list something of Juicy.
did I skip him or just hadn't found that something special?
Where is his name on my list??
I flipped mad through my pages-

No juicy to be found...

Humm I even asked Big Dog if he knew of anything

I may had bought for juicy that I couldn't remember??

He stood there thoughtless too.
That lead us to the 3 of 4 hiding places.
We dug for what seemed to be hours (30 mins)
& came up with nothing.

OMD we have nothing for our baby boy-

What kind of parent am I??!!

Don't answer that plz....

He doesn't NEED toys-
loves to walk around chewing on a blanket or what-nots
He plays with what ever the other dogs leave laying around
But, then it hits me-His room...
He has furniture that we don't use...
He has his crib that well-keeps him contained for the moment

Maybe that is it-his walls are bare butt...
He has nothing to gaze at when he is in total bliss mode
Maybe that is it-I need to do a make over on his room
Big Dog painted it just in time for his arrival before his birth
& we had new wooden floors installed as well
But everything else is hand-me-downs & antique furniture.
He needs something to make it all POP-

Then the thinking went on to what does juicy like....
Trains, cars, trucks, tractors,
Oh No wait that is the Brother Dogs
humm what does juicy like....
ANIMALS That is it...
We shall try to find something in the Circus Theme
{heck living in this house is like being in the circus}

& the witch hunt goes on...........

bed set
curtain panel
wall decor.
stuffies
blankets
wooden toy things
books (cotton made for chewing baby)
wall art/painting

humm so much can be done-
only have 2 months to complete the look!!!

wish me luck-
when i find the good deals-
I'll post here for you to shop & save as well...

One more down-Two to go....

That is right Halloween is done with
NOW we have two holidays left.

How is it that when it comes to decorating-
WHICH I love to do-
Thanksgiving seems to be the hardest holiday to decorate for
being with the lack of items out there in the stores.

It's like going on a witch hunt-
If I had more resources on Thanksgiving Decorations
I wouldn't mind decorating at the start of the month
right on through.

I remember my mother did it for us as children
Being part Houma Indian family we had the little statues of Indians
around the house along with the Pilgrims & Turkeys.
Back then in School as to what my son has learned now (being not much of nothing)
My mother also made it a point to teach us all about how the
INDIANS helped out the Pilgrims as they came to the New Land.
We had a full educational lesson learned at home as much as we did in school
if not more (Mom did teaching here & there back then).

Every holiday was done with care.
From decorating, to the stories of why we were decorating once again,
to what we cooked & baked,to the foods we got to eat, to the life outside.

Mom always managed to find just enough decorations so the
month would NOT be forgotten.
But, also at that-It is her birthday day Nov. 24th
& a aunt (my father's youngest sister) of mines on the same day
Which sometimes falls on thanksgiving day depending on the year.

As I continue my hunt for those special "almost forgotten holiday"
decorations I hope that I can have enough to remind my children
of what I remember as a child.

Do you like Camping?

Here we arrived just before 4:00pm Sat. @ Jelly Stone on the Lake, In Miss.
As I stated before we were here for the last few hurricanes that hit just 2 months ago.
& It is so much nicer now-there is 16 cabins & only 4 are being taken by visitors.
there are about 80+ spots for RVs & only 10 maybe are being used. It is really nice-the weather is nice & cool, slight mist at night-& when standing at the top of the ridge looking down into the valley where the RVs can park it looks like a miniature Christmas village!! Very Beautiful !!

We aren't directly on the Lake-we're about 6 yrds away. They have Canadian Geese, Ducks, Poo'Doos (some cajun word for another type of DUCK), & white birds oh well crabs can't think of their names-Not swans, Not Pelicans, well when I think of it I'll come back & let ya know. Also I took some pic today of the Dogs-I'll upload them tomorrow (Monday).

Speaking of Monday It's Grand Mother Dog's Birthday.
She will be 55 so I say....But, actually she will be 56-
I guess I'll do for her like I do for myself-
Get to a certain age & that is it...Not counting any higher!
Just there is the date & now hand over the cake!!
(of cheesy that rhymed)
The dogs & I have a special planned for her & of course I bought her some presents BUT, I'm smart enough NOT to talk about them here just yet-she does read my blah blah blog

We have some friends/family that came up today & will be spending 3 days 2 nights with us.
It's another Grammie & her 2 g'sons. Their ages fall between my dogs So, it works out well for play times. They had a blast today & didn't miss a beat in getting into the spirit of winter camping.

This am my father & big dog built a fire. My Mother & the little dogs went in search for perfect fall foliage for my table in my cabin. Ohh talk about some pretty trees & sticks. (pic to come on that as well). Now my clan is all out by the fire while I'm over here in the laundry room cleaning blankets & 2 days of clothes & Yapping to y'all about it all.

When I get back I'm fixing me a little *night cap* & hitting the fire to enjoy the night.

Have a nice night, stay warm.
See you on Monday with some GREAT!!! Online Deals to start off your Christmas Shopping!!!

XOXO

decorating....??

Oh MY MY it is nearly 2 weeks into October I have yet to get up ALL my decorations...

We are talking no less then 6 XL plastic tubs FULL of Halloween deco...I decided this year to move my grave yard the other side of our back yard-when the area is nice dead thanks to this months passed hurricane season-How lucky can I get, aye...

we decided of course to reuse the crosses my father made (from cypress wood) from last year again this year...Well lil note though I kept them up all year long-cause the back yard has that all ready dead look as is so...I like it that way though...we cleared out the bigger trees & pointy poky things & I went to the local garden store " Mitch's" & i bought myself 12 big bags of mulch-I spreads them out in my grave area, stuck the crosses in, Hung a BIG spider web in back of it all wrapped around my part dead trees & today we going to add 2 spot lights to give it well light...you know that ""EEK"" feeling.

Big Dog decided a few years back to hang my 2-4 ft tall skeletons from his A-Frame with hang mans nooses. I bought after hallow one year for a cheap sale of $3.00 each Reg price ranges in the more then $12.00 each

Plus the hallow sale had a less then $5. dead plastic parrot-It has bones showing & feathers missing. So perfect with the hanging skeletons-Beings they are Pirate Skeletons.

We added a few dead people hanging from the trees as well. I got them on sale just last sat. for $5.99 each reg priced at $25.00 That is a deal I just couldn't pass up...

**Brain Fart** I know the money market isn't the best...But i always go all out there for Halloween it's what I do & I do it too for Christmas-I save my money here & there just for those celebrations...Plus I save & save from years pass...Sooo, YEAH I had my little stash for this year...That is why I'm able to keep up the tradition for Moon Dog Spot's birthday & our Halloween Gathering. You Know our lil dog is turning 4 this year...On Oct 22nd

OK back to Deco buz.
Me & Spot added some ""NEON GREEN"" webs to the outside of our home this am.
We live in a brick house this is perfect for the webs to cling to-no need for staple gun or black tape...just spread out & wipe it to the house with your hands....We had a blast doing it too!!!
Kept Spot entertained for 3 hours...Not bad for the am hours.

I bought at Micheal's 2 sets of Bats Flying Lights
They are adorable too=Cost was reg. $19.99 we had hit the 40% off sale PLUS I had two coupons that came in the mail for another saving of $10. Off $20.
My total for both sets was with tax $4.12

I placed these hanging from my box-in front of my side door & french back doors.

We will be doing alot more decor. this afternoon & finish with it all soon too

Ohh I must mitchen to y'all that my church bench will have a purpose this year...My dead folks will be placed on them as though they were the ones handing out hallow candy to all the boys & ghouls...Ohh sooo spooky!!!

As soon as I get my printer problem fixed I'll post pict. for y'all to check out our hallow world

Till next time I post...when ever that may be...

1- tbl. Traditional Basil Pesto
4 picks Sun Dried Tomatoes
1-tbl. Olive Oil
Olive Oil to Rub
Grill set on low heat
3-tooth picks

Directions:
Slice long ways on the chicken breast leaving
a small amount in back still attached.

In a small bowl mix Pesto & Oil. Set aside.
This will be your sauce covering for the chicken while grilling.

Place the chicken on the grill.
Grill 5 mins per side-then cover with pesto sauce & flip.
Continue doing this for a total of 20 mins.

Slice chicken & place over a bed of greens.
*a bed of Roman lettuce & Fresh baby spinach*
You can use any vinaigrette dressing you prefer.
If you want to make more then 1 grilled chicken
just double the recipe.

I couldn't decide what to cook one night for dinner-with my gang you would think that wouldn't be hard but, honestly with putting a recipe book together
I feel as if I would have cooked every recipe rather then just typing then from the last several months. This recipe came from what I have on hand.

Thank Goodness for a GREAT CREATIVE Mind-ALL of my DOGS loved this recipe!!!& for the 1st time in a long time NO ONE spoke while we ate dinner It was all "Yums & Hums & Oohs"

Hope you & your family enjoy it as well!!

MIA...???

Oh yes I know I have been MIA big time
for the last several weeks we been some busy dogs

we had my child-hood best friend come down for a week long visit
then we had to start getting mentally & physically ready for school
Here in Lafourche Parish school starts Friday, August, 8th
Yes, same thing I thought-
what the heck on a Friday for...
BUT it seems to be a good idea over all
get the children to the proper class(es)
they have one day to know what they will be doing & what to expect
from their new school year teacher(s)

I think it is a great idea-Come Monday they can get down to business
with out a question in NOT wasting any time on the LEARNING

Here we are in HURRICANE SEASON
this can last all the way through October
One year when i was a child, we had our pumpkin floating
though our house due to a hurricane.

Also besides getting in the mind frame of hurricane season
& school year I'm also busy with making my own recipe book.
I was ready for it to be published BUT, just when I came to hit
send I was reviewing all the information & WAA WAA WHAT
the price was over the top BIG...this is way out of my range
Over $3,000 it would have taken to have 50 books printed

YEAH exactly what the heck?!! well the search was on for a cheaper price...
that took me a few days but, I think I found one...
So, NOW I'm in the process of moving all 100 plus recipes onto a new company format.
But with 200 books I will be spending less then $1,000 for them to be printed.

Beings I do not have a sponsor the cash has to come some wheres
Hello Honey Piggy Bank...LOL
I was hoping to have books in hand as of August 1st but,
now I'm hoping since my lil mishap that I will have them in
hand come October 1st-ish about. This will be most better esp.
people Frugal People esp. are already doing their Christmas shopping
& they have a few that have no clue what to get certain
people who have everything...
well why not a recipe book-huh huh...
it's a great idea I think...

Once I have the recipe books in hand here at my home
I will make a post for anyone who wants to order one.
with price & exactly how many recipes are contained in this one book.

hope everyone is having a good summer
& I hope all the kiddies are ready for a fresh start at school

More on what we been up to later....TTFN

Hair Enhancement -hummm

I started "enhancing" my hair for about 5 years now.
Reason...KIDS!!!!

I'm usually not wild with my color but, after 2 more dogs
the natural highlights have become more of a full dye color.
I go to a salon for the fact that I'm to scared to do it on my own.
I used to do light brown cause my hair is dark brown
well that didn't last long as in I couldn't wait to color it differently

Then I started with a ash red, until 2 years ago to red red
& then yesterday
I decided that instead of coloring it all over in a red red that will wash out to a red orange the orange that i don't like-
I needed to have a closer look at the color tones chart.

humm let's see-red basic+lighter tone=orange-humm I do not think so....
basic red+darker tones=purple-well now that ain't so bad; right?!
let me go the opposite way on the color chart & go with more purples

Oh My Goodness-
WHY Didn't I Do It This Way Before!!!

I LOVE MY HAIR COLOR!!!!

It's a deep red with purple tones...
Say WHAT...oh yeah It's just like Punk Rock Barbies from the 80's
Come on ladies you know what barbie I'm talking about
The African American Friend of Barbie had the strips of
reddish purple hair in her natural black hair...

Well, that is my Cajun natural brown hair...
paint with a splash of reddish-purple!!!

Of course the dogs noticed instantly...
REX "Wow mom your hair is really well hum PURPLE!!"
SPOT "WOW Mommies HAIR IS REALLY RED & PURPLE" WOW"
JUICY He just staired with one "GRUNT"
Big DOG I asked Do u Like my hair..."Yeah sure! Purple makes your skin whiter"
My Mother "well it's different & if you don't like it
-it will wash out in a few days right?!"

So to all you ladies who think there is NO WAY I will never color my hair
Think again...Coloring is addictive..
once u color one way YOU will try other ways...
& Just remember this REDS wash out faster then other colors
BUT Blondes have to color more often due to New Growth at ROOTS

*if you decided to enhance your hair at home &
come across a few dye splats around your
work area read here-my friend shares some points for clean ups!!*

Dining Out???

Well, today was the one day we decided as parents, to the dogs, that they need to learn more about how to eat out in the public way...I try my best at home to teach them proper table manners BUT, that don't always stick so here...

We went to Chili's (one of my all time fav)
There wasn't many people around 3:30pm
so I figured it was safe enough to go in with the dogs...

Of course our waiter was to much into himself to worry that we needed the children's food 1st then aps. & then our food after wards...of course he took our order all at once even though I asked him to put in the children's order 1st...Boy I just LOVE when they do NOT listen...just burns me red...No other family member talks when I come to order...Heck I have to order for 3 dogs & myself then find out what big dogs wants too...i give it in a certain way I expect it to be delivered to us that same way...Esp beings _amongst other people in the world who don't_I do pay a tip of 15% of what our check amount is...sometimes if not more ESP. if the service was above GOOD!!!!

Then of course several people came & went & we still sat there waiting....& waiting...1 hour of waiting for what we order...Burgers...

The dogs...well Rex was well behaved...he always had been...I always took him with me everywhere when it was just the 3 of us WAY BACK WHEN...LOL

Spot...he was a bit to eager to explore our table & everyone that walked by us...
He manged to hold a conversation all about what & why is there gum under this table...eww GROSS is mainly what he said...Germs - Virus- OH I need to wash my hands...& of course he had to talk to each & every (female) waitress when passed us...SO MALE!!!

Juicy-he didn't want to try to color...he wanted to EAT the color & the lil' booklet too-He was the hungriest of them all...He wanted FOOD NOW...of course not thinking me I had not even a lil snack bag with me...which usually I do...we were in big dogs truck-not my own where the snack bag is!!!

after our hour waiting was over-the dogs food, aps, ours, drinks, dessert ALL came in at once-our big table shrunk down to a child's small table...we wolfed down our food 'cause that time we were starved!! & even brought home 2 boxes of burgers....

reason: big mouth burgers are 1 XL burger cut into 4 pieces
our waiter failed to tell us that...I asked how big was the BIG Mouth Burgers-
He said...well they sort like a white Castle burger is just Bigger...
even demonstrated with his hands of the size it would be...
so i thought from what he said it was like a white castle mini like burger

I order 1-so I thought- 1 burger for each child...
Rex ate each 4 chunks
spot ate 1 chunk
juicy ate 2 chunks

we had 5 burger chunks left over & 1 order of fries/onion strings
plus egg roll aps. & 1/2 of chicken wing thingy aps.

well its safe to say i will return but if i see that i will have same waiter-
i'll demand they switch me to another one!!!!

if you in Houma @ chili's don't let Joseph be your waiter!!!!!
or in Lafayette-he is going there in the fall for college-transfer
& the manager in Houma will miss him all to much!!
to much info from a person don't ya' think.....

What a adventure we had...Not a dull Saturday to say the least...
still home by 9 & I even got to go to bed early...
YES before anyone else...
The big dog didn't mind...
he stayed up with Rex & Spot...
Juicy was already passed out when we arrived home...

Now to see what adventures we will endure this Sunday....
Hummm....I'm sure it will be a good one!!

Bed Time...Or so I Thought?!?

Well, lets see...
I thought I would share with all of you BLAA BLAA
readers what it is like for us at so-called bed time...
You see it's summer vacation here & the dogs don't
have such a mandatory set time frame BUT I do try to
stick to some of the same rules we use when we are in "
School Mode".

Time starts at no later then 7'ish-7:30pm::

I give baths (if needed) every other night.
My dogs can't play outside to much in summer
time due to skin allergies. We need days of
low 70's or even cool 60's then we are OUT & about...
yes you will most likely see us in shorts come those cool crispy days.
I give spot & juicy their baths then rex showers himself down.
Spot & Juicy take less then 30 mins to wash up &
be bed ready as for REX he is worse then a woman...
He takes about NO LESS then 1 HOUR in the shower...
No i don't ask what he is doing in there cause well
he is male I don't want to know.

Once they are changed into pjs. They scrub their teeth down...
then it's last round of milk run.

yes, I'm sooo backwards but it's what we do...

Juicy takes vanilla soy with strawberry mix &
cereal in a bottle*shake shake* serve...
Spot takes soy chocolate in a sippy cup
(for the record it taste like a creamy chocolate shake-yum mo)
& Rex takes organic whole milk...(in a cup).
Down the hatch it goes before they land in their beds.
I turn on Baby TV for Juicy & the bigger dogs turn on
a DVD which lately (last 2 months) has been Vintage Mickey. Too cute BTW.

Then As I think I can get to the kitchen to bring it back from the dead...
I hear chirping-Not sure if it's the boys or a cricket bringing us
luck or something wild creature mating or what...down the hall
i start to go as I look in to see Juicy is on his back one leg up
on the railing & other one pressing on his Fisher Price fish tank...
(yes I high recommend these We still have all 3 from
each dog-Only 2 work though both tied onto Juicy's bed railing)

He is kicking the on & off button with his foot.
Just gazing at it like it's the coolest thing ever.

Totally amused & not aware that I'm standing in on his symphony.
I slip out before he does notice though...head up the hall
to head back to the kitchen & I'm stopped...I hear "Mom" "Mom"
I head back down to see Spot sitting up in his bed all to show me
what song & dance he so loves on the vintage mickey dvd...
I get the like recital then of course we hug 2x & kiss 2x...
back to the kitchen once more...clean up the poor thing & set dishes to wash.

Before heading out the kitchen I prepare 6 bottles for
Juicy (4 vanilla, strawberry milk & 2 apple juice),
4 sippy cups for Spot ( 2 chocolate milk & 2 tropical juice)
& 4 regular cups with lids for Rex
(1 regular milk, 1 chocolate milk, 2 organic punch juice)...
Then I preset my Coffee pot ready for ME!!!

As i head in my "so-called used to be all MINES office"
I head the bigger dogs party-up in their room...
I head back down the hall to set them straight &
put on Baby TV as well for them...

In the evenings Baby TV plays only musically songs. No words No talking No nothing else that is distracting...Pure Music...Soft & sweet!! Makes u very sleepy...I love that extra help at night for the dogs...

Once my dogs are sleeping then I go to sleep myself...
I can NOT sleep if I know they are awake...
Even if it is in their own beds...
For little feet NEVER stay put in their places...
Bonus Wooden Floors are extra ears for mothers...
I hear then at a drop of a toe...LOL

By this time is it well pass 10 pm-
OK OK it's very close to 11pm...

Maybe one day we can have them all in bed
sleeping by 10
BUT not have anyone wake up
in the mid morning like the rooster just crowed...

LOL I'll be here if that day ever comes...
Till then OUR crazy nights will be still rolling...

Good Nite to y'all & Sweetest Dreams!!

Did any one say "TRAINS"

Oh my dogs LOVE LOVE LOVE TRAINS
Especially REX....HE LOVES them the most!!

He loves any kind at that...
from the several thousand dollar ones to the cheap 88cent ones
as long as it is a train then he has to have it...

He is a very good builder
he can lay down a track set like no one has ever seen in a matter of mins.
Want a big set with all & every bit of tracks
it may take him a while but, he will have every single set out there...

check out the pics to see the many tracks include...
there are 3 all together & he ran out of room
He still have 2 other sets that we couldn't include
No more cement to lay them down on...

The pic at the top & bottom here is both of Moon Dog Spot...
He was adding the trains on while Moon Dog Rex was building...
That is PURE team work!!!

In the pic above That is Sir Topenhat
He runs the Rail Lines

humm Now if ONLY we had more cement room to
BUILD ALL of our trains out on?!?!?

one more dog to go.......

This here is my oldest dog
Moon Dog Rex

personality:
Sweet Charmer, Train LOVER,
Momma's Boy
(which all my boys are), Big Helper
He is a too sweet for his own good kinda kid.

He wants to be the big boy he is (8 years old)
but, at the same time he enjoys the playing
he
gets to do with his younger brothers...

He makes my job easier due to his helping ways...
But, he will not help with out some sort of payment...

Sooooooooooo MALE!!!

rather it be sweets, treated out to fast food,
or good old fashion green
that's right the
boys LOVE to shop & love trains
so he expects the MONEY
for his hard work...

((& I've been told girls are worse then boys-

That person did not have 3 boys))
